With a legacy as old as the establishment of Jamshedpur itself, Bistupur developed into one of the major commercial areas of Jamshedpur. In an urbanized yet green environment, the area hosts everything from heritage buildings like the Regal Building to the glossy P&M Mall.
Very rightly located at the center of Jamshedpur, it acts as a commercial hub – hosting the corporate offices of some of the biggest companies in India. At the same time the grassy Gopal Maidaan acts as a recreational arena for everything ranging from sports to shopping fairs and cultural events. The Tatas laid the stone of this multifunctional locality and still look after to upkeep it.
For every Jamshedpurian, Bistupur is truly the heart of the city and it is with this spirit that TEDxBistupur will speak from the hearts about.. What Next ?
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxBistupur, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxBistupur event, TED Talks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
